This one promises to be interesting, whatever it turns out to be. Billed as a Triple Whip sort-of reunion, I’m guessing it will skew towards their older, guitar heavy alt-rock sound (as opposed to the late-period bass and drums math rock), but either way it’s gonna be a blast. Mystery band Buddy Friend and the Guys and a comedy set by Michael Coulter kick things off. And, it’s impossible to have a bad night at the Brass Rail. Seriously.

Kilborn Alley’s live show rarely — if ever — dissapoints. Combine this with the fact that Memphis on Main is a highly underappreciated space, and you get all the ingredients for an unexpectedly good time. Plus, you can get a drink in a mason jar. A mason jar.
WHAT: The Constellations, Santah
WHERE: The Highdive ($10)
WHEN: Saturday, August 7th
The Atlanta-based group have a trippy sound not entirely unlike an alt-rock Gnarls Barkley, but with roughly five times as many members. And, since they’ll be shoehorned into a criminally short 45 minute set at Lollapalooza on Friday afternoon, they should be in the mood to stretch out.
