Relive Hogchute Opry 2016

Welcome to the 4th annual Hogchute music festival which took place in the Kalyx Center for Sustainability near Monticello, Illinois. Local and regional folk and root bands came together and played a 2 day festival in a big red barn out in the country. There was camping, fire, beer drinkin’, a variety of music and poetry, and many good vibes. Check out my photos from the event and check them out on Facebook to attend their next event!

Welcome to the Kalyx reservation.
This old house was apparently moved out to the grounds by the owner. Inside lurks many relics of the past.

This is the barn where the music happened.
Inside the barn.
Spinning records in between bands.
Recording all that goodness.
Sean Lamkin, poet and Master of Ceremonies.
Now, for the music.
And then time for some food from a Monticello food truck.
Watching from the rafters.
Waterfoul plays thier last show… for now.
Finally, there were fireworks. There was also a bonfire but I was too tuckered out from all of the great music to stick around.
