All that jazz

The Banks Bridgewater Lewis Fine Arts Academy (formerly known as the Mo’ Betta Music After School Academy) held a free concert this past Saturday on campus at the Smith Memorial Building Auditorium. The nearly ninety minute production showcased the talents of many young musicians and vocalists from this year’s Jazz Summer Camp.

Established in 2005, the academy’s mission is to enhance both the academic and emotional intelligence of its participants while supporting the spiritual, educational, and aesthetic development of both the students and their families. The academy also strives to break down stereotypes by bringing together students from different social, cultural, and economic backgrounds through the shared love of the music.

Ms. Deborah Banks, Vocal Instructor

Mr. Robert Lewis, Percussion Instructor

Mr. Ron Bridgewater, Director (Advanced Band)
