Beer, BBQ, and great Blues music

Beer, BBQ, and Blues music. Can you think of a better way to describe summer? How about we combine the best of all three into a two day extravaganza? That’s right: this weekend is the 2nd annual Blues, Brews, and BBQ festival.

The beer will be provided by the Miller Brewing Company and Orange and Blue distribution. Along with that, two different mugs, which can be used at the festival, will be for sale with the money going towards the festival and the non-profit organizations involved. So, have a beer and help out some needy causes at the same time.

The BBQ will be offered from some of the local area’s best-known restaurants. Blues BBQ and Lil’ Porgy’s will be back for another round this year among many others. Many groups and organizations will also be on hand, cooking up some of their own styles, giving you another chance to help out our local community.

This year the county plaza has allowed the full use of its parking lot to be used as the family activity area. There will be carnival rides, a mechanical bull, giant checker boards, a Guitar Hero contest, and even some skateboarding demos brought to you by local skaters.

The music will be brought to you on two different stages this year. The Samuel Music Interactive Stage will feature several acts from around the area and also interactive music activities for children and adults alike. The 95.3 The Wolf Main Stage will feature truly amazing acts from around the nation. Of special mention is The Kinsey Report and Buckwheat Zydeco, but all acts are worth the price of admission.

Which is free! You get all this, the world class music, and the chance to share in some wonderful beer and bbq (this has a price but most are cooking for a good cause), along with the huge family activity area and the specially set up Art Boulevard for free. So come out and enjoy this wonderful weekend.
