Senior Day falls short for Illini

This guy made a lot of shots, and they won.

Now for the good news. The Senior Day roar for Chester Frazier was so loud, it seemed as if it released four years worth of pent-up worship. I’ll assume that was the case.http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l272/legalrecords/brock.jpg

We have a lovely program here, featuring a lot of really wonderful people. Let’s have a look at some of them.

Scarecrow, I think I’ll miss you most of all.

You may not know Charles Jackson. He played on the basketball team here at Illinois. He also played on the football team here at Illinois. He does not like snow. He grew up with a lot of chickens. He enjoys eating chickens. He’s charming, affable, gracious. He’s a culinary artist.

Peggy Lynch came from Baltimore to enjoy a Sunday afternoon with her boys.

He finally got the the appreciation he richly deserves.

Chester is a homebody. He doesn’t really go out, except to work his ass
off on a basketball court, or to have dinner with the team.

Here’s what he likes to eat, what he listens to, what he does for fun:

The walk off the court was not as fun. But there are bright days ahead.

One of the lovely people first arrived on campus about twenty years ago, amid some controversy.  Today, he returned to enormous applause.

NOTES

I may have figured out why Chester has so much trouble inbounding the ball. Nobody looks at him.

Not looking is a key to breaking down the motion offense. Hey! Look over here. It’s a lane.

LOOKS GOOD IN ORANGE

Peggy Haning found this scarf at the Limited.

Karen Shafer chose the stripey look. In the background, previous entrant Pat Flannel wonders whether SP just says that to ALL the girls.

Gladys Green looked great wearing all the Illini colors. Orange shirt, blue jean jacket, and shining silver-white hair. Her husband is Nice Joe Green.
