Preparing for Purdue

Demetri McCamey’s evolution is not limited to the court. He’s become a bit more relaxed, a bit more personal, a bit less general in his interviews. That’s as good for him as it is for us in the media and you among the interested, because Demetri is more introspective and intelligent than you’d think from listening to him repeat typical mantras and coachspeak.

In this clip he talks about scouting opponents in his free time, his NBA prospects, his high school teammate Jonathan Peoples (now at Notre Dame) among other things.

Mike Davis dismissed the idea that the team will be happy with two or three more wins. He wants to win them all.

Tyler Griffey continues to be one of the more thoughtful, interesting interviews. He couldn’t watch all of Wednesday’s Purdue win at Ohio State because of that damned “student” aspect of being a student-athlete.
