Mission: License Plates III

Dedicated readers will know that I’ve taken up the difficult task of noticing and documenting unusual vanity plates over the past few months. September yielded a bumper crop. Here are some of the fancy plates that were spotted on the streets of C-U.

This plate likely belongs to a person who appreciates the simple things in life, like soup (or five soups):

These three are just darling:

While these ones are a bit more aggressive:

Not to quibble, but if you’re in your car, you’re unlikely to be at home:

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that this person is a fan of Halloween:

This plate has an awareness of its own humor:

These two have a proudly local feel:

Although this second plate will be out of date pretty quickly.

Motorcyclists got in the mix this month:

As a Fiat driver myself, I appreciated the relevance of this plate:

But my vote for best overall goes to this beauty:

I love the ambiguity of the “oh man.” Does the driver mean that as in, “those were the days,” or “what a wild ride,” or “oh, bummer”? I like to think that 1986 gave a little from each column.
