Encountering creatures at the Orpheum

Every Wednesday (from 11-11:30 a.m.) and Friday (at 2 p.m.), the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum holds a program called Animal Encounters. During this program, children and their parents are able to see the museums creatures up close and personal and learn about their natural habitats. With animals ranging from turtles, a trantula, bearded dragons and a corn snake, there’s a lot to see and learn.

Though it’s a short program, it didn’t take long for the kids to get excited. Given the opportunity to pet the animals themselves, a whole lot of excitement filled the room quickly. With a wide variation of animals to see and “pet” many questions were asked. A welcoming environment with an educational experience opens up a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with your child.

The Orpheum will be holding a selection of summer camps between the months of June and July, open to all ages K-5th. To view more information on different camps, dates, and prices visit thier website
