Each summer the College of Fine + Applied Arts at the University of Illinois invites several K-12 art educators to live on campus for a week and reconnect with their artistic inclinations. Although these educators are waist-high in art during the school year, they are often too busy tending to the administrative and curricular duties of a teacher to work on projects uninterrupted. The cohort was guided by university faculty and granted access to college resources, including 3D and laser printing offered at student rates. The week ended with an exhibition of their artwork, completed previously or during the micro-residency itself. Watch the video below for a peak at some of their finished artwork and hear why many participants come back year after year.
