Deke Weaver, artist and professor at the University of Illinois, and Brett Ashley Kaplan, author and professor at the U of I, will be in conversation at The Literary at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 3rd.
Weaver, known for his lifelong, ongoing project the Unreliable Bestiary, is working on his next installment (planned for late 2023), Cetacean (it means whale, basically). Kaplan’s debut novel, Rare Stuff, is a story of love and loss and also features whales. They are both very interesting and super smart people, so this conversation is not to be missed.
