December 11th will be the last day for NOLA’s Rock Bar. Until then, you can take advantage of 50% off food and drink December 7th through 11th. That won’t be it for the space, though. Jonah Weisskopf, owner of the building, told us:
“I think the Urbana music/arts scene continues to thrive and I am excited to open up a new art bar/venue at the former Nolas location. I can’t wait to maximize the indoor/outdoor audio-visual potential of the space. I am looking forward to participating and platforming the music/arts community in the area. I am planning to open up early this Spring.”

NOLA’S ROCK BAR SET TO CLOSE THEIR DOORS
Last Day Of Operation Will Be Sunday, December 11thURBANA, IL – NOLA’s Rock Bar located in the heart of Downtown Urbana is closing their doors after nearly 2.5 years of service bringing the spirit of New Orleans to the local community. An update from NOLA’s Rock Bar Management recently shared to social media has stated,
“NOLA’s Rock Bar will be closing its doors this December. The last day of service will be 12/11/22. We want to thank each and every one of you who has supported us during our time in beautiful downtown Urbana. To all of you who have come to enjoy a drink, who have come out for live music or any of our events, and our employees who have worked with us through everything, thank you. It has been a great ride, going from Blackbird Urbana to NOLA’s Rock Bar.
Unfortunately the difficulty of operating a bar/restaurant post-pandemic has been too challenging to make a place like NOLA’s run. We encourage all of our friends to come and visit us at The Canopy Club, CU’s home for live music. Thank you for all the happy memories.
