40 North is ready for their next exhibition in their 40 Point One space at 1300 S. Neil Street. It’s called DOUBLE TAKE, and here is the description from the event page:
This special exhibition was inspired by the Exquisite Corpse drawing game invented by the surrealists where artists took turns creating sections of an image on a sheet of paper, folded to hide each individual contribution. DOUBLE TAKE features 10 pairs of artists that were invited to collaborate with only minimal shared information on a set of 12 inch x 12 inch provided panels. The opening reception will also be an exciting reveal since all the artists will see their completed corresponding panels for the very first time!
The opening reception, co-hosted by Champaign County Partnership and the Urbana Business Association, will be on February 20th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This coincides with the Boneyard Mingle, which is an opportunity for those interested in participating in the Boneyard Arts Festival to learn more and chat it up with other possible participants. The event is free and open to anyone.

On the left is a digital rendering of plexiglass art with geometric shapes in bright blues, purples and pinks with yellow-toned bubbles and thin, angular lines in bright white, blue, and pink. There is a green bar across the bottom with the text Boneyard Mingle in white. On the right is a beige background with a dark gray stripe across the center, with the words Double Take in both light gray and white text offset from each other. Image from Facebook event page.
