Many of our local groceries are changing their hours to allow staff to restock. To help seniors and our most vulnerable individuals avoid crowds during this time of COVID-19, some stores are offering special periods of time, usually in the morning, for these shoppers. This is a list of the current hours and special shopping hours available in C-U as of Monday, March 23.
Aldi
Aldi has daily hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
AmKo
This grocery store at the corner of Springfield and First has daily hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Annapoorna
Annapoorna is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Bombay Market
Bombay Market is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
Cheese and Crackers
Cheese and Crackers is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. On Sundays, their hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Common Ground Food Co-op
Store hours are updated to 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Starting today, March 23rd, Common Ground Co-op will designate a special time for shoppers ages 55+ from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. before the store opens.
County Market
County Market’s current hours are from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Additionally, stores will dedicate 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. for senior customers.
Dollar General
Dollar General will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
They are strongly encouraging that from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., shopping is dedicated to at-risk customers.
Far East Grocery
Far East Grocery will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. They are limiting the store to 10 shoppers at a time.
Fresh International Market
Their updated hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
Green Onion
On Neil Street, Green Onion is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays to Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Grovestone
Grovestone has temporarily closed their brick and mortar store in Champaign. Their online store grovestone.com will be open.
Harvest Market
Harvest Market will be open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
They will offer a two hour period of shopping for seniors and those most at risk for COVID-19 from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Meijer
Meijer’s Urbana and Champaign locations have hours of 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
They also offer dedicated shopping times for senior citizens and customers with chronic health conditions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Additionally, Meijer has dedicated shopping hours for first responders and essential services workers, including Meijer team members, Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Old Time Meat and Deli
Old Time Meat and Deli is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Additionally, they are opening at 9 a.m. for seniors and at risk individuals.
Ruler Foods
This grocery has hours from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., daily.
Salt & Light
Salt & Light in Urbana is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Sundays, they are open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
They offer a special two hour block of shopping Monday through Saturday for seniors and those at risk from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
Sam’s Club
Sam’s is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Schnucks
Schnucks’ daily hours are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
They will serve seniors 60+ and those most at risk of COVID-19 from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Target
Target’s hours are from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
On Wednesdays, the first hour of shopping 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. will be reserved for elderly shoppers, pregnant shoppers, and shoppers with underlying health conditions.
ValuChek
ValuChek is open daily from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.
They offer a special two-hour shopping period from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. for seniors and individuals at risk.
Walmart
Walmart’s updated hours are 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. for all locations.
Starting tomorrow, March 24 through April 28, elderly and at risk shoppers can shop from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. on Tuesday mornings.
World Harvest International and Gourmet Foods
World Harvest International and Gourmet Foods is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
