Roots rock group Houndmouth have been making the rounds of some major festivals including Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo ever since the release of their debut album From The Hills Below the City, which was released back in 2013. Check out their latest hit- “Sedona” ahead of their show this Wednesday at The Canopy Club where they will be playing along with Lucy Dacus.

Good mix of bands playing in this one, including Normal, IL based indie-pop group Alex and the XO’s, who utilize a ukelele and a mandolin to help them create their unique sound. Sharing the stage with them will be local indie rock group Grand Ambassador and local brass band Big Easy Brass Band.

When: Friday, April 15th at 6 p.m.
Come out and show support for R.A.C.E.S., a local organization that provides support to victims of sexual assault. Performing will be We the Animals, New Souls, Love Handles, as well as some ladies amateur wrestling from CLAW, some stand-up comedy, and music from DJ mingram.

Country star Tracy Lawrence released his first album Sticks and Stones all the way back in 1991, since then he has had eight number one hit singles on the Billboard country music charts, his latest one being “Find Out Who Your Friends Are”.

Saturday is Record Store Day. That means it is time to celebrate independantly owned record stores across the US. One way to do that would be to head down to Exile on Main Street and check out their deals while taking in some local music from one of over a dozen acts that will be performing throughout the day including Euriah, The Bashful Youngens, The Phantom Broadcast, Terminus Victor, and many more.

Rockabilly guitarist Bill Kirchen is known as the “Titan of the Telecaster” for his ability on guitar. He will be playing over at The Rose Bowl Tavern on Saturday night with Redd Volkaert, country guitarist who used to play in Merle Haggard’s backing band.

Josh Tillman performing under the moniker Father John Misty has generated a lot of buzz in the world of indie music, especially since the release of his 2015 album I Love You, Honeybear, an emotional and tender album that was instantly deemed a classic.
