Allerton has just announced a way to enjoy the outdoor splendor of the park while being protected a bit from the elements — The Dome.
Snuggle up with throw blankets, a space heater, and have a date, a friend gathering, or a meeting while surrounded by a lovely snowy scene.
A few important details:
- You can bring your own refreshments, or order food from The Greenhouse Café. No alcohol — kind of a bummer, but also understandable. Also it’s University policy. **Update: Allerton has changed this on the website. While you cannot bring your own alcoholic beverages, you can contact their sales team about adding beer, wine, or champagne to the rental**
- Rental times/costs: Tuesday – Saturday 6 to 9 p.m. $50, Saturday + Sunday 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. $30

I’m totally intrigued by this, because it makes me think of one of my bucket list items:
Way smaller scale, obviously, but I’m kind of liking the idea, and would totally give it a try.
