Champaign County Restore is hosting a drop-in bike clinic on June 25th from 10 to 12 p.m. Their bike expert will be on hand in the grassy knoll behind the store at 119 E University to answer all of your bike questions, and help show you how to do minor fixes on your bike. You can get an overview of all of the parts of your bike, learn about bike washing and chain lubrication, and also learn how to:
– Fix a “dropped chain”
– Adjust brakes
– Adjust seat and handlebar height
– Adjust front and rear derailleurs (shifting)
– Change a flat tire and tube
This seems like a great opportunity to not only get your bike in shape for the season, but to also learn how to take care of it yourself and not have to haul it into a bike shop every time there’s a small issue (which is the way we operate in our house).
