C-U Safe Routes to School and MTD are launching a volunteer snow removal program this winter. They are asking for “snow angels” to sign up for sections of sidewalk to keep clear of snow throughout the winter. From the press release:
A map of priority sidewalks for snow removal was created using Safe Routes to School routes, high ridership bus routes/bus stops, and data collected during sidewalk surveys and a plan done by the Regional Planning Commission. Volunteers can choose a block or more, of these priority sidewalks online. Volunteers commit to clearing their section within 48 hours after a snowfall greater than 2”. Volunteers can sign up as individuals or sign up with a group. Outstanding volunteers will be recognized as “Snow Angel of the Month.”
You can find the sign up form on the C-U Safe Routes website.
