AMERICAN AIRLINES DOUBLES FLIGHTS BETWEEN CHAMPAIGN/URBANA AND DALLAS/FT. WORTH
Second Daily Flight Begins November 5th
SAVOY, IL (August 8, 2017) – American Airlines’ regional partner, Envoy, will double service between University of Illinois – Willard Airport (CMI) and its hub at Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) beginning on November 5th.
The new flight offers a convenient afternoon departure from Champaign-Urbana to Dallas/Ft. Worth and a new midday departure from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Champaign-Urbana. The flight is designed to connect with morning flights from west coast cities to Champaign-Urbana. The new departure will connect Champaign-Urbana travelers to evening flights to the west coast.
“We have been working hard to better connect Champaign-Urbana to the world, and this is just another sign that people are discovering how much easier it is to fly Champaign-Urbana,” said Gene Cossey, Willard Airport’s Executive Director. “We were proud to welcome United Airlines to the market in June and we are equally as proud to expand our service to the western US.”
So far in 2017, airlines serving Willard Airport have added five new departures per day, increasing service from 300 departing seats per day at the beginning of the year to 550 departing seats per day as of November. Champaign-Urbana air service, provided by both American and United, connects to more than 250 cities around the world in a single stop.
The new flight will be operated by a 50-seat Embraer ERJ145 regional jet with the following schedule:
