The internet says it’s National Hot Pastrami Sandwich Day. Okay, sure. Let’s play along.
Despite the complete lack of Jewish delis here in C-U, we have quite a few opportunities for pastrami sandwiches (hot and cold). Most recently, I had one from Pekara (cold, $10, pictured above), which, now under new ownership, has revived the bistro menu. The sandwich was very good. I’ve also had the East Coast pastrami from Broadway Food Hall (hot, $9) — another solid, more traditional New York option.
