Champaign, Ill. -The fifth annual Ultimate Basketball Challenge will take place Wednesday, April 14 at 6 pm at Huff Hall, featuring the Illinois men’s and women’s varsity basketball teams and the nationally regarded Illinois men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball teams. The event is a joint effort between the programs to raise money for the wheelchair basketball teams as well as Coaches vs. Cancer.
The doors at Huff Hall will open at 5:30 pm, with the basketball players available on the court for autographs and photographs prior to the game.
Tickets for the Ultimate Basketball Challenge are on sale now at the Illinois Athletics Ticket Office, or by phone (217-333-3470 or 866-ILLINI-1). Tickets also will be on sale at Huff Hall the day of the game. Prices are $5 each or $3 each for a group rate of 10 or more tickets, and $2 each for UI students and Go Illini Card holders.
The UI athletes will be divided into two teams, with men’s basketball coach Bruce Weber and women’s basketball coach Jolette Law serving as coaches. A celebrity free throw shooting contest will take place at halftime that includes Weber, Law and Olympic speedskating medalist and Champaign native Katherine Reutter.
