Urbana Public Arts Program to Host Free Workshop at September 28th Market at the Square

Just in case you haven’t noticed, Pygmalion Music Festival is happening this weekend. To celebrate and share as much as we can about the artists participating in the three festivals (music, lit fest, made fest), we’re taking a break from our weekly Market Watch

Urbana’s Market at the Sqaure is Saturday, and in addition to all of the produce and homemade home goods, the Urbana Public Arts Program is hosting its last market event.

Per the City of Urbana’s press release:

The City of Urbana Public Arts Program will hold the fifth and final of its seasonal series of free monthly art activities at Urbana’s Market at the Square on Saturday, September 28. Re-use, re-purpose and re-create with The I.D.E.A. Store from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Then from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., enjoy a lovely jazz performance by The Michael Fenoglio Trio.

Both events are free, open to all ages, and require no registration to participate. The workshop and performance will be held on Walnut Street near the City of Urbana tent at the northwest entrance to the Market at the Square, located in historic downtown Urbana on Illinois and Vine.

The Urbana Public Arts Program offers free monthly art programming during Urbana’s Market at the Square. This programming is part of the Urbana Public Arts Program mission to provide opportunities for all residents to engage with the arts in their many forms.
