Urbana Park District hosting photography exhibit at Purves Nature Center

It’s always phenomenal when civic and government organizations show a commitment to supporting the arts, and Urbana is lucky to have fairly consistently had leaders committed to allowing the arts to foster. Today, the Urbana Park District is yet another great example.

The Urbana Park District’s Anita Purves Nature Center is hosting a photography exhibit from local artist and yoga instructor Jodi Adams. The show will run from January 11th through April 30th, with an artist reception from 1-3 p.m. on January 16th. From the website:

There is power in an intention. It is a promise to the Self. Our thoughts manifest into creation; what we think, we become. In yoga, it is a call to awaking in our practice, infusing every breath, every movement with meaning. In life, it is a call to awakening of Self.

Additionally, for the photographically inclined, The UPD is also hosting The Best in Show Photographic Print Competition in February at Lincoln Square. If you’re a photographer and think you have a shot, feel free to get enter here. All information surrounding the competition can also be found here.
