The City of Urbana is hosting an Open Mic Forum on Thursday, September 30th at 6:00 p.m. This forum is an opportunity for members of the community to present their ideas on how to improve Downtown Urbana. The Open Mic Forum is a part of the Downtown Plan Update process, in which the City is updating the 2002 Downtown Strategic Plan, the document that is used to guide decisions about Downtown development.
We are looking for members of the community to give short presentations (up to 7 minutes) on their ideas to improve Downtown Urbana. Presentations could address a wide range of topics such as architecture, marketing, parks/open space, arts, social networking, business, or any other innovative ideas to strengthen our Downtown community. Individuals or teams are welcome to present.
Presentations will take place in Council Chambers at City Hall (400 South Vine Street) and will be televised on UPTV Channel 6. The City will provide a laptop and projector for slideshow presentations in PowerPoint or PDF format.
Contact Jeff Engstrom by September 27th to sign up to give a presentation. Visit here to learn more about the Downtown Plan Update.
