From the press release:
URBANA BUSINESS ASSOCIATION WELCOMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
URBANA, Il.—The Urbana Business Association is thrilled to welcome Paris Blalock as their new executive director to lead the organization and to serve at the helm of the Urbana business community.
Blalock brings years of experience in sales, marketing, business development and event planning to her new position. Her primary responsibilities include providing leadership for the organization’s mission and strategic plan, working to develop plans, programs, and events that increase membership, awareness, and participation in the UBA, actively recruiting and advocating for Urbana businesses, serving as a conduit for those businesses to communicate and interact and acting as a leader in marketing and event management for those businesses and the city of Urbana.
Blalock earned a bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship from Illinois State University in 1999, and has since held positions in the special event and hospitality industries, and even operated her own small business, Paris’ Boutique, for five years. Most recently, Blalock was the events director at Events at Refinery in Champaign.
An active member of her community, Blalock attends and hosts many community events, as well as serves on many local committees—including the Champaign-based charitable organization Salt and Light. She is honored to join the team at the UBA and is excited to use her experience and enthusiasm to further the organization’s mission.
Blalock can be reached at ed@urbanabusiness.com or by calling 217-344-3872.
