The Sustainable Student Farm at UIUC will have its first farm stand this Thursday, May 24th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Quad. This student-run organization maintains the smal farm, and sells the produce from late May through October on campus. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students (and faculty and staff) to easily access fresh, local food.
This week’s menu is a green-heavy, and will include:
- Green & purple asparagus
- Red cabbage
- Chives
- Transplant seedlings of tomatoes, peppers, green onion, basil, sunflowers, kale, collards, chard, cucumbers and more!
