The City of Champaign is creating a new pop-up park in the Garden Hills neighborhood, and it will have a piece of Memorial Stadium. Recently, the turf at Memorial Stadium was pulled up and replaced, and sections of the old turf will be incorporated into Hedge Pop! Park.
It will be used as a playing surface for soccer and football. The park will also include a basketball court. There will be a park-raising party from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.
