Look: this bowl of soup at 83 Vietnamese is absolutely perfect. It is possibly the best wonton noodle soup I have ever eaten, and I am a very very big fan of wonton soup, so I’ve had my fill. A regular bowl of this perfection will set you back $12. It is a delight.
But this particular bowl has suckling BBQ pork and roasted duck, and it takes it to a silly new plateau. You can add it, but at a cost.
At $24 + tax, it is entirely too expensive to be anything more than a once a year type treat; fact is, it is too expensive for what it is, based on this market. Upon tipping — which you are doing, right? – you are in for $30 on a meal that should probably be more like half that, give or take.
But don’t let that stop you. Honestly, sometimes we treat ourselves, and sometimes, it comes in the form of an epic bowl of soup fit for the upper echelon. Indeed, we must do this to remind us that we value ourselves.
So deeply recommended while the weather is frigid, and the air is crisp.
