The duo famous for craft hot sauces will soon open the Weird Meat Boyz Kitchen and cook food Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights in Champaign. The Weird Meat Boyz Kitchen will serve a rotating small menu of made-from-scratch, flavorful bites at prices $10 or less.
The Weird Meat Boyz Kitchen plans to open with a burger called Smashy McSmashface which will have two handmade smash burgers grilled with cheese and topped with housemade pickled onions and jalapeños plus a special sauce. They also plan to serve beef hot dogs (that they make in-house) with unlimited toppings and some other dishes.
You may remember the Weird Meat Boyz from the outdoor farmers’ markets, their pop-up food truck, or from their Artisan Cup & Fork Judge’s Choice win last fall.
The Weird Meat Boyz just passed their health inspection and will be serving dinner out of the Collective Pour kitchen sometime in February. I love the cocktails, whiskey, beer, and boozy soft serve at CP, so I know the drinks will be great and am optimistic about the food to come from the WMBz Kitchen.
Follow the Weird Meat Boyz on Facebook or Instagram for real time updates about the opening.
