The U of I’s Center for Advanced Study is hosting an evening with Emily St. John Mandel

Emily St. John Mandel is the author of five books, the most recent of which is The Glass Hotel (2020). You may be familiar with her National Book Award-winning 2014 novel Station Eleven, which follows a Shakespearean troupe as they travel Great Lakes region communities decimated by a global flu pandemic. HBO is making a miniseries based on Station Eleven that will air sometime later this year or early next.

Mandel will be in conversation with the University of Illinois’ Alex Shakar and Amy Hassinger at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31st. You can learn more about the event and register here. The event is free and open to the public.
