On a recent episode of the often excellent WTF Podcast with Mark Maron, Nick Offerman (aka Ron Swanson aka Duke Silver) briefly discusses his “great epiphany” learning about theater before and while attending the University of Illinois. Offerman graduated from the U of I in 1993. In addition to appearing in university-based performances, Offerman is also an alum of The Station Theatre.

UPDATE: On our Facebook page, Colin Griffith pointed out this episode of Comedy Bang Bang where Offerman more extensively discusses his time in C-U. This includes a story about getting arrested for smoking pot while hanging out over the Boneyard.
