Krannert Center has the supplies, and they are looking for community members who can turn them into masks and gowns for healthcare providers and the Champaign County Emergency Operations Center.
The costume shop staff have created patterns, and have the fabric and materials needed to create the protective gear. Those interested in helping out should fill out this survey. Material pickup can happen in a couple of different ways: through scheduled, socially-distanced pick-ups in the parking lot of Einstein Bros. Bagels at 2001 South Lincoln Avenue in Urbana and 803 West Anthony Drive in Champaign, or a no-contact drop off at their place of residence.
After the masks and gowns are returned, they will be fully sanitized by campus research facilities before distribution.
This is part of a collaboration with Carle Illinois College of Medicine Health Maker Lab and The Grainger College of Engineering. You can give to their efforts here, or donate to Krannert Center here.
