These community violence forums are a way to get information and resources to community members who may have had members of their family, their school, their neighborhood affected by recent incidents of violence. It’s also an opportunity for people to voice concerns. From the Facebook post:
“Unfortunately, our community has recently been impacted by a few of incidents of community violence. We know when trauma hits home that may affect our friends and neighbors. Because of this, a number of people have reached out to the Community Violence Response Team (CVRT) and asked them to host a Community Violence Response Forum where relevant and available information & resources will be shared. We’re hoping to reach people in neighborhoods that have been directly impacted by recent shooting incidents.”
The forum will take place at Douglass Library (504 E. Grove) from 6:15 to 7 p.m.
