A City of Champaign Candidate Forum co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the NAACP will be held Thursday, March 24 at 7 p.m. in Champaign Council Chambers in the City Building at 102 N. Neil. In addition to the debate between Jerry Schweighart and Don Gerard, five candidates for Champaign Unit 4 School Board will also hold a forum. You can download a pdf of the flier here.
UPDATE (4:30 p.m., 3/17/11): The debate will be broadcast live on Channel 5 (CGTV) and replayed several times before the election. The mayoral debate will be held first, then the school board. “The moderator is Dr. Sandra Kato, Director of the Upward Bound Project & Asst. Dean, UI Office of Minority Students,” said Carole Rebeiz, Chair, LWVCC Voter Service Committee.
Also, tonight at 6 p.m. in Room W115 at Parkland College, there will be a LWV-and-NAACP-sponsored debate between seven candidates vying for three spots on the Parkland Board of Trustees.
