If you’ve got Olympics fever lately, you’re not alone. Watching Michael Phelps win last night would inspire even the most uninspired of individuals. What’s even cooler, is when the confluence of the Olympic Games and Champaign-Urbana forms, proving that Champaign-Urbana is once again relevant on a national scale.
The University of Illinois, in fact, will be sending a ton of athletes to this year’s Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and to celebrate, Neutral Cycle and Josh George are teaming up to send off our local athletes the best way possible – with a bike ride and then a big party at The Accord this Sunday evening. Event start at West Side Park, rolls through the streets of Chamapign and ends at The Accord with a toast to the athletes..guest speakers, music, athlete meet & greet.
Here’s the route:
Meet us at West Side Park at 4 PM- look for balloons.
We will depart on Church St., travel to Neil St., a quick left on Logan to Walnut. We will travel down to Main St. and make our way to the Accord (51 E. Main) for a short program and a toast to the athletes!If you need some wheels, we can help you out.. message us!
