It’s that time of year, time to gather up the random electronics in your house and get ready to bring them to the biannual collection event.
The collection is October 15th at Parkland College from 8 a.m. to noon (use the Duncan entrance), and you can reserve your time slot now. People who live in Bondville, Broadlands, Champaign, Fisher, Foosland, Gifford, Homer, Ivesdale, Longview, Ludlow, Mahomet, Ogden, Pesotum, Rantoul, Royal, Sadorus, Savoy, Sidney, St. Joseph, Thomasboro, Tolono, Urbana, and Unincorporated Champaign County are eligible for participation.
You are limited to bringing four televisions and seven total items to recycle. If you have more than that, or cannot make this event, there are other year-round options for electronics recycling. However, this is your best bet for getting rid of old TVs.
Find the full list of accepted and not accepted items, as well as any other important info, at the collection event website.
