If you’re craving more drag after C-U Pride last weekend, Parkland is offering you another opportunity.
Parkland Pride, an LGBTQ+ student club at Parkland College, will host a drag show Thursday, October 10th from 7:30 to 10 p.m. in the Harold and Jean Miner Theatre. And not just a drag show, a Halloween drag show. Which makes it extra awesome.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and there will be a meet and greet at 7 p.m. All are invited to attend.
The drag show, a fundraiser to support yearlong activities for the club, is designed to break down misconceptions about drag shows and the queer community, according to Jessica Jackson, one of the group’s staff advisors.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for ages 7 to 17, and are on sale in the college center and the Student Union. You can also purchase them at the theatre on the night of the show. The meet and greet costs an additional $3.
While the show is family-friendly, some of the performers’ songs may contain adult language, so use your own discretion with the younger ones.
Parkland Pride encourages collaboration, fellowship, and awareness regarding the spectrum of sexual and gender identities and embraces membership of students from all affinities.
