On Sunday, April 6th at 7 p.m., at the Chapel of Saint John the Divine, 1011. S. Wright St., organist Scott Montgomery will perform the Sations of the Cross composed by Marcel Dupre. The music will be accompanied by Paul Claudel’s poem Chemin de Croix.
In Brussel in 1931 French organist, Marcel Dupre, improvised these movements for each of the stations of the cross based upon a poem by Paul Claudel (Chemin de Croix). Dupre later notated these improvisations. They are very vivid and poignant, especially when played in conjunction with poem.
There is no admission to the concert but a free-will offering is appreciated
