Next week, the No. 44 Society, a rare book collector’s club created by University of Illinois’ Rare Book & Manuscript Library, will host a meeting to discuss the care in preserving rare materials. This society is open to any book lover interested in book collecting. The meeting starts at 3 p.m. in the University’s Main Library on Wednesday, February 12th. Henry Hebert, the university’s Rare Book Conservator, will be speaking. If you haven’t been to the Rare Book & Manuscript room, this meeting will introduce you to the process of preserving literary history, and give you insight on how to start your own book collection.
