Fancy yourself a writer? Ninth Letter is accepting fiction, poetry, and nonfiction writing submissions for upcoming print and web editions. For the print, they are looking for “prose and poetry that experiment with form, narrative, and nontraditional subject matter, as well as more traditional literary work.” You can submit fiction until November 30th then again from January 1st to February 28th, and poetry and essays will be accepted between now and February 28th. All of these are postmarked dates.
“Haunting” is the theme for the Winter 2019 web edition: “We can be haunted by things, by people, by places, by moments; by what we’ve done and what’s been done to us. We can be haunted by the past; haunted, even, by the future. We can be haunted by what we know, and by what we never will. Show us what haunts you.” Submissions will be accepted through November 4th.
There are pretty specific guidelines for your submissions, to make sure to read carefully if you want a shot at having your work accepted. You can find those here, as well as the link for submitting online.
