Is your band just starting out and looking for fame, fortune and fans? Is being in the band the only way for you to get into the Canopy Club? Does your mom drive you to your gigs? If you answered yes to any of these questions, there’s a contest for you!
The Champaign Park District is now accepting applications from teen bands for their 3rd Annual Battle of the Bands. Ten lucky bands will be chosen from the applicants to perform at the Virginia Theatre on Wednesday, March 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. It is open to bands whose members are all between the ages of 12 and 21, with the majority of the musicians under the age of 19. More information, including the application and a list of prizes (which includes a paid gig!), can be found on the Champaign Park District website. Deadline to submit your band’s application is Friday, February 10, 5:00 p.m.
