On Wednesday, December 18 at 3 p.m., the Urbana Business Association hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the unveiling of new street lights in Urbana’s King Park neighborhood.
Thought to have been installed in the 1960s, the previous street lights were in various states of disrepair and gave off a yellowish, dull light.
The new lights are 30-foot aluminum poles with LED fixtures, which give off a brighter, whiter light than the previous street lights.
