The City of Urbana is hosting a ribbon cutting celebration in honor of the 2018 Murals on Glass selected artists, Kelly Heironymus and Beth Darling. The Murals on Glass initiative was created several years ago in an effort to highlight local artists by displaying their work on downtown Urbana windows for a period of two years. Here are the details of the upcoming receptions:
At noon on Wednesday, January 10th, the Urbana Public Arts Program and Urbana Park District will hold a reception and ribbon cutting to celebrate local artist Kelly Hieronymus and her piece “South Farm No.9” displayed on the front windows of the Urbana Park District’s Phillips Recreation Center. The Phillips Recreation Center is located at (505 W. Stoughton).
The following day, at noon, a second reception and ribbon cutting will take place to celebrate local artist Beth Darling and her piece “Hosta Takeover” displayed on the front windows of the City of Urbana building. Visit the City Hall (400 S. Vine St.) from 12pm-1pm for a reception and ribbon-cutting.
