From the press release:
Comments will be collected on Fall 2020 service improvements, as well as other service feedback. The final version of service changes will be published on MTD’s website, social media, and in the upcoming 2020 – 2021 edition of the Maps & Schedules book.
Most of the proposed changes this year are minimal and provide benefits to passengers, such as more late-night service and increased utilization of the new and improved MCORE corridor. One exciting change proposed for Fall 2020 is the addition of new iStops and route eligibility within the University District.
iStops are special designated stops located on and near campus, and in order to expedite boarding, it is unnecessary for anyone to pay a fare or show any sort of a pass or ID at these stops. At the start of MTD’s new service year, all routes will be eligible for this enhanced boarding procedure at the designated iStops. This simplified and expanded approach to iStops will eliminate confusion surrounding route eligibility, and improve access and efficiency at busy campus stops. iStops will be clearly marked throughout the University District and fares will continue to be collected at all other stops.
