Local DJs, Milk N Cookies, were busted last year with powder cocaine bagged up for distribution and $2,240 in their apartment after an extensive investigation by local law enforcement.
Despite that compelling evidence, Class X Felony charges for cocaine distribution were recently reduced to a possession charge. Paul and James McElwain only face sixty days in prison for possession of an ounce of cocaine. With good behavior, the Brothers McElwain may only spend thirty days actually behind bars.
Whoever said that the judicial system treats the well-off and well-connected differently than everyone else? The standard penalty for getting caught with a bagged up ounce of powdered cocaine and two grand in cash is thirty days behind bars FOR EVERYONE, right?
