The Urbana Park District is hosting the event in honor of National Kids to Parks Day. Check in at 8:30 a.m. at Anita Purves Nature Center, then complete the trek to Douglass Park where there will be snacks, kids’ activities, and a baseball game. Here are the details:
Check-in and light refreshments at the Anita Purves Nature Center: 8:30am
Departure for Walk, Stroll or Roll: 9amOnce participants arrive at Douglass Park there will be a baseball game on McFarland Field involving members of local fire protection and law enforcement. Face painters, bounce houses, and refreshments will also be available at Douglass Park. Participants have the option to walk back to the Anita Purves Nature Center, but there will be shuttles available for those who need it.
