Chicago is both huge and small, evidenced today when my friend randomly started laughing out loud upon having seen a fella wearing a fucking Rick Mirer jersey at the Bears game.
For those who may not remember Rick Mirer was the much lauded college prospect out of Notre Dame and later, a symbol of mediocrity behind center in the pros. He played one year in the Windy City: 1997. Evidently, that was enough time for them to produce jerseys for his many fans.
The proud owner of this gem of a jersey? Mr. Matt Talbott, who was up in the city for his band’s show at the A/V Festival.
Standing next to him is Ward Gollings and Chris Green — the same road crew that Hum carried in the 90s.
