Make some herbal tonics with Common Ground and The Land Connection

On January 29th, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Common Ground Food Co-op and The Land Connection are sponsoring an Elderberry Syrup and Fire Cider Class with Joan Jach from Old Town Flowers CU. The class itself is free, with funding from the Illinois Department of Agriculture’s Illinois Specialty Crop Block Grant program, but Common Ground is putting together a kit of needed ingredients for $30 for participants who would like to make the products during the class. The kit will include local honey, dried elderberries, horseradish root, ginger root, garlic, onion, apple cider vinegar, cheesecloth, and other herbs and spices.

Class kit pick up will be on January 28th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Common Ground. You can order your kit here.
