Learn to properly ferment and preserve your summer produce

Do you have a bunch of produce you’d like to preserve? Does fermenting your own food freak you out? Delight Flower Farm and Prairie Fruits Farm are hosting a class led by Katie Adams, a local farmer working with Seven Sisters Farm, the Savanna Institute, and Midwest Agroforestry Solutions.

This class, Preservation 101 Series: No Fear Fermentation, is the second in a three part series (no need to take all three), and meets 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 15th.

Here’s what this class covers:

Simple fermentation is not only the easiest and tastiest, but also the healthiest way to preserve fruits, veggies, and flowers. In this class we will cover the science behind lacto-fermentation, why it’s so great for digestive health, and how you only need two things (water and salt) to ferment just about anything. Bring a jar, leave with a ferment & lots of recipes. Your gut will thank you!

Tickets are $30/person, and can be purchased here.
