Common Ground Food Co-op’s next virtual cooking class will feature the fun of fermentation. Join the Co-op’s Sarah Buckman and community agroforester and perennial crop farmer Kaite Adams on November 12th from 12 to 2 p.m. to find out all you need to know about lacto-fermentation, and preserving some fermented foods for the winter. You’ll learn to make sauerkraut, fermented root vegetables, beet kvass, and preserved lemons.
The cost for the class + produce needed is $30. You will also need to have five mason jars (one 32 ounce and four 16 ounce). If you don’t have those on hand, you can add them on to your registration for $12.99.
Kit pickup will be November 11th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Co-op.
