Kurt Bielema has released his new album, entitled SPACE. The album is a collection of songs detailing Bielema’s head space in 2020, with themes of loss, family, and existential dread.
Featuring a blend of rock, indie, folk, and pop, the 8 song album ends with a message of hope, with an almost 10 minute cover of “Over the Rainbow” that features a long instrumental outro that you’ll never want to end.
The album also includes a song entitled “Ready & Able,” which features a posthumous performance by Angie Heaton, who passed away last year. The song was written by Bielema and performed by Heaton for her 2001 album, but never finished, until now.
Bielema also has an official album release show at the Rose Bowl Tavern on August 31st at 7:30 p.m.
You can find SPACE on Bielema’s Bandcamp, as well as listen below.
